K9 Assistance Australia 30/1/23 A huge shoutout and congratulations to this team. Last week K9Maze and her handler offically gratuated as a K9AA certifed Assistance dog TEAM.
This is one of the first Worksafe Victoria (non seeing or hearing) Assistance dogs. She was approved and reviewed through a medical panel board and took many years of work by her human to get funded- but here she is, her handler leaving a legacy for future potential teams with their success.
Two years of handler and K9 training complete, lots of setbacks including covid, health and distance but nothing could stop these two getting the work done together.
They graduated with an exceptional 10 quality disability mitigating tasks with some additional tasks consolidating to add to the list as the journey progresses (the real fun has just began).
The Public Access Test was a huge 90min in the busiest school holiday madness. Not only testing for the dog, with lots of unsolicited touches, cooing and attention to ignore, but also for the handler who 2 years ago couldn't even last 10mins in such an environment.
A huge achievement that deserves some recognition. Well done TEAM Maze ��
